Laser Genesis is a non-invasive and painless procedure commonly used to reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark spots, wrinkles, scarring, redness and broken blood vessels, and improve the look of rosacea. But how does it work, what can you expect during a procedure, and are you a candidate?
How Does Laser Genesis Work?
This incredible laser technology works by heating the dermis directly under the skin to stimulate collagen, which plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Collagen is one of the most abundant proteins in your body, it's what helps keep the skin firm and is depleted by age, sun damage, and smoking. New collagen provides the skin with strength and structure, thus tightening the skin and reversing fine lines and wrinkles. The heat from the laser also restricts blood vessels, which helps fight redness and rosacea.
For people who are prone to breakouts, Laser Genesis may significantly help reduce acne and acne scars. The laser penetrates deep into the skin to reach the overactive oil-producing sebaceous glands where your acne problem originates. This kills acne-causing bacteria while simultaneously improving redness and scarring caused by acne.
What Can You Expect During a Laser Genesis Procedure?
During a 30-minute 'Hollywood Facial' treatment, you may feel a warm sensation across the treatment area. The intensity of this may differ, as it depends on how many passes your Provider makes with the laser. Laser Genesis is pretty amazing as there is little-to-no downtime or aftercare post-treatment. You may notice the treatment area being slightly red and dark spots may be temporarily darkened, but you can resume normal daily activities immediately. We only advise that you are not in extreme heat for long periods of time for 4-6 hours post-treatment.
What Results Can You Expect Following Treatment?
Laser Genesis can reduce active acne breakouts, redness, scarring, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation caused by acne within 24 hours. You should notice other results (skin tone/texture, reduction of wrinkles and redness) within 3 to 4 weeks as the new collagen and skin cells stimulated by the laser rise to the surface of the skin. The procedure can also deliver a healthier complexion with smaller pores, more even texture, reduced redness and a youthful glow. (1) However, results are cumulative. You may notice subtle differences in your skin tone and texture with the first treatment, (especially active acne breakouts), but multiple treatments can deliver dramatic results. We typically advise 4-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, but your Medical Provider will create a custom laser skin treatment plan for you during your complimentary consultation.
Who Is a Candidate and How Much Does it Cost?
Great news, Laser Genesis is safe on all skin types! Whether your concerns are rosacea or redness, acne, dark spots, wrinkles or scarring, this laser skin treatment will provide some sort of benefit for you. For patients that suffer from frequent acne breakouts that do not clear with topical or oral acne treatments, this procedure may be ideal for you. Like any medical procedure, however, laser skin treatments are not for everyone. It's important to schedule a consultation with one of our Medical Providers to determine if Laser Genesis is suitable for you and your skin. A single Laser Genesis treatment is $350, and $1,800 for a package of 6. Buy 6 and you're basically getting one free!
